Daily Assignments (20% of final grade)
-
Assignment Description: There will be approximately 11 Daily Assignments. They will typically be assigned after each lecture, unless an exam is being released instead.
Daily Assignments will generally be short, consisting of a few exercises related to the days topics. In general, the problems will be computational in nature.
You will submit a write-up of your solutions to the exercises via gradescope. Your write-up may be handwritten, but I encourage you to write
it using $\LaTeX$. The deadline to submit your write-up is always 11:59PM the next day.
-
Purpose: We will encounter new definitions, theorems, and techniques every day. The best way to internalize all of this new information is to practice, and in
such a fast-paced course it is imperative to practice daily. Daily Assignments will give you an opportunity to practice what you learned in the lecture that day. The assignments
are low-stakes, in the sense that your grade is based on effort and participation, see below.
-
Basis for Evaluation: Daily assignments are evaluated on a Pass/No Pass basis. For each daily assignment, you will either receive 1 point (a Pass) or 0 points (a
No Pass). You will receive 1 point if you:
- submit your assignment on time; and
- follow the submission guidelines (see Submitting Assignments in the syllabus); and
- demonstrate a good faith effort to complete all assigned exercises correctly.
If your submission does not meet all of the above criteria, you will receive
0 points. Your lowest 2 scores will be dropped.
Assignments, Templates, & Due Dates
The assignments and due dates will be posted in the table below. Additionally, I will provide the .tex files in case you want to write your solutions using $\LaTeX$.
