Daily Assignments (15% of Final Grade)

  • Assignment Description: There will be 13 Daily Assignments (1 for each class meeting, excluding exam days) which are to be completed during class meetings.. During class, you will complete assigned activities from the textbook, usually in small groups. You will submit an individual write-up of the activities completed in class via gradescope. The deadline to submit your write-up is always 11:59PM the next day same day. Note: you are not expected to work on the Daily assignment outside of class.
  • Purpose: Most of our time in class will be reserved for actively doing mathematics. The daily assignments will form the structure of our meetings. During class, we will actively engage in learning multivariable calculus by completing the activities associated with the most recent reading assignment.
  • Basis for Evaluation: Daily assignments are evaluated on a Pass/No Pass basis. For each daily assignment, you will either receive 1 point (a “Pass”) or 0 points (a “No Pass”). You will receive 1 point if you:
    • attend the class meeting;
    • actively participate in discussions;
    • attempt all assigned activities; and
    • make a good faith effort to complete each activity correctly.
    If your submission does not meet all of the above criteria, you will receive 0 points. Your lowest 3 scores will be dropped.

Assigned Activities, Class Notes, Other Resources

    I will use the following table to keep track of the activities we completed during the class. It will be updated shortly after class. You should complete the Daily assignment, even if you miss class.
    During class meetings, it is possible that I will give occasional short presentations. In that case, I will post my handwritten notes, or links to resources we used, in the table below.
