As Professor of Anthropology, I have been teaching at the University of California, Santa Cruz since 1967. Academic Interests: Physical anthropology; primate and human evolution, comparative anatomy through the life course, including growth and development and aging; the role of women in evolution; and evolutionary theory.

Current research: primate comparative anatomy, skeletal biology, and life history with an emphasis on apes; catarrhine growth and development.
