About me

I am currently a Ph.D. student in the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). I work with Andrew Fisher (UCSC, Hydrogeology) as my primary advisor and collaborate with Chad Saltikov (UCSC, Microbiology) and Samantha Ying (UCR, Soil Biogeochemistry)

My research interests are, broadly, on improving water quality and supply in particularly susceptible regions such as agricultural areas. I focus on tracing the biogeochemical cycling of contaminants of concern, such as nutrients and trace metals, using a series of field and lab scale tests.

I graduated from the University of California Irvine with a BS in Earth System Science and specializations in Oceanography and Hydrology & Terrestrial ecosystems. I worked with Katherine Mackey (UCI, Marine Biogeochemistry) on my undergraduate research which  focused on understanding the influence of phytoplankton size and community structure on mercury bioaccumulation in a Southern California coastal lagoon.
