INFORMATION FOR
PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
I am actively seeking
graduate students (either at the M.S. or Ph.D. level) who are
interested in paleoecology or related research topics. I have
a number of potential projects in mind, but I also encourage students
with their own research interests to apply as well. Please contact me if you are
interested in applying.
Potential topics include:
- Paleoecology and environmental stress during the Late Devonian mass extinction
- Ecological change in benthic invertebrate communities during
the Paleocene-Eocene thermal maximum

Geographic and paleoenvironmental variations in community ecology in the western US Permian
- Extinction patterns in freshwater bivalves across the
Permian-Triassic boundary

Causes of the final transition from the Paleozoic to Modern
Evolutionary faunas during the Middle-Late Jurassic
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
The deadline
for Fall 2008 graduate applications has passed. Applications for
2009 will be accepted in the fall, with a deadline of early January,
2009. Please consult these websites for further information
