About
I am an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz. My work combines machine learning and signal processing for intelligent physical and networked systems. Before joining UC Santa Cruz, I was a Machine Learning Researcher at Qualcomm AI Research. I received my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Research interests
My research spans foundation and generative AI for wireless systems, network intelligence and edge AI, and semantic communications for AI systems. Across these directions, I draw on machine learning, signal processing, statistical inference, and optimization.
Prospective students
I am currently seeking Ph.D. students whose interests align with my research. Prospective students may email yehao@ucsc.edu with a CV and transcripts.
