Winter 2014: Meeting 1

We discussed chapters 3 and 4 of John Hale’s textbook draft, in particular: regular and context free grammars, finite state and push down automata, and top-down and bottom-up parsing strategies. We will continue next time (i.e., Fri Jan. 24, same time and place) with left-corner parsing.
