Women's Justice Center/Center de Justicia
Para Mujeres provides advocacy, free of charge, for victims of rape, domestic
violence, and child abuse, particularly in the Latina and other under served
communities of Sonoma County. The site includes a bilingual - no password needed
- web forum
where victims, activists, advocates, and professionals can communicate with
each other on any and all aspects of violence against women and children.
Walnut Avenue Women's Center
provides a variety of services for the purpose of helping women to improvetheir
life situations. The organization is women-centered, seeking to put women's
experiences at the center of our thinking. We provide services which empower
and inform women, their children and their families, enabling those we serve
to realize their potential in all aspects of their lives.

Commission for
the Prevention of Violence Against Women
The goal of the Commission is to work in concrete ways to eliminate violence
against women in the City through education and prevention programs. These programs
focus on empowering women and girls, changing the behavior of potential batterers
and rapists, offering support to women survivors of violence and changing community
attitudes towards violence against women. The Commission develops and implements
educational programs, reviews police response to crimes of sexual assault and
domestic violence, and contracts with local agencies to provide services which
include prevention and education programs and support services for survivors
of violence.
Women's Crisis Support/Defensa
de Mujeres
Women's Crisis Support/Defensa de Mujeres (WCS-DdM) is a non-profit organization
that serves abused women and their children in Santa Cruz County. Our mission
is to end the cycle of violence and sexual assault for all women, youth, and
children in our community, with a special commitment to serving Latinas and
other underserved populations. We provide bilingual, culturally sensitive services
with the goal to helping women identify their options and available resources.
WCS-DdM operates a county wide, 24-hour emergency response team for victims
of domestic violence and sexual assault. Bilingual advocates are available to
provide support, accompaniments, advocacy and ongoing peer counseling.

UCSC Rape Prevention Education
Program
Founded in 1979 to raise community awareness about rape and to lessen the fear
and trauma of rape, the program offers a wide variety of educational and innovative
workshops for UCSC males and females. Emphasis is placed on understanding the
causes, consequences, and prevention of aquaintance rape. Films, videos, books,
and periodicals are available for class projects. Self-defense clases are coordinated.
Confidential appointments can be made.
Survivor's Healing Center
is a small non-profit organization which provides education, information, referrals,
high quality services and support to survivors of childhood sexual abuse and
to their supporters. Our primary goals are to empower those victimized by sexual
abuse through a healing process and to prevent sexual abuse of children. We
provide services to survivors and those who care about them without regard for
race, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, physical limitations or
financial challenges. Survivors Healing Center is one of only a handful of organizations
in the world which is organized specifically to provide help to people healing
from child sexual abuse.

Services
The mission of Counseling & Psychological Services (CPS) is to provide a
broad range of high quality counseling, outreach and consultation services and
programs that support UCSC graduate and undergraduate students in achieving
their personal and educational goals. The CPS vision is to foster an inclusive,
multicultural campus community in which differences are respected and valued.
Through its mission and vision, CPS is committed to addressing important academic,
personal, social, family and community issues that influence learning, achievement,
and success of UCSC students in the university community and beyond.

founded in Santa Cruz, California, in 1989. Our mission is to help people of
all ages learn how to stay safe, act wisely, and believe in themselves. Our
positive prevention programs have been created with the help of experts in education,
mental health, child development, martial arts, rape crisis intervention, child
safety, and law enforcement. The main office provides support for over 20 centers
and offices in the United States, Canada, Europe, and New Zealand and conducts
direct services throughout Northern California. KIDPOWER has trained more than
80,000 people worldwide.
