C6800-8P40G and C6800-8P40Gxl

This line card is compatible with the C6807xl chassis but not with earlier catalyst family members. It can be used with either the Sup2T or the Sup6T. The xl varient comes with sufficient TCAM to hold 1,000,000 IPv4 routes. The regular version holds 250,000 routes.

The connection to the crossbar permits 4 x 40 Gb/s ports to run non-blocking. Cisco calls thaat performance mode. If all 8 ports are used, the system is 2:1 over subscribed.
