Pokemon are fictional creatures spawned from the imagination of Satoshi Tajiri in 1995. Since then, this idea has spawned into an international franchise that has won over the hearts of millions of individuals through games, trading cards, movies, and many other forms of media and entertainment.
The most well known products of the Pokemon franchise are definitely the Pokemon games, and the Pokemon trading card game. I have always been a huge fan of the games and have been especially keen on the slogan for the Pokemon games: "Gotta Catch 'em All". This slogan represents one of the biggest motivations for playing the Pokemon games, collecting or catching all the Pokemon.
As the years went on, the number of Pokemon has increased drastically, adding around a 100 more Pokemon for each generation that is released. Starting from an original 151 Pokemon, to just over 800 Pokemon as of today. Here is a list of the name of all the generations that have come out so far in order of release:
Due to the large number of Pokemon, the slogan "Gotta Catch 'em All" has taken on a whole new light and presents a greater challenge than ever before. However, nostalgia still plagues me to favor the older Pokemon and my favorites still resides in the first 400 or so Pokemon.
