Math Teachers' Circles are a space where math teachers, math enthusiasts, and professional mathematicians come together to develop community, engage, and explore interesting mathematical topics.
subscribe nowOur circle focus on and values community. This is an important aspect in and outside the classroom. Mathematics can be thought as an activity that becomes more interesting and engaging by exploting the social aspect of it.
Sessions are aimed at promoting engagement with mathematics. We promote active learning strategies and inquiry based learning. By looking at interesting applications, brain teasers, and games, we believe that mathematics can become more engaging for students and teachers.
We explore intersting ideas in mathematics that support student and teacher engagement. Sessions are self contained and no specific backgorund is needed. Usually our approach is low entry-high ceiling, where the initial entry point relies on basic concepts, but the ideas can become interesting and challenging.
