Grading Rubric for ARTH 80P Papers

 

General:

Introduction:

____ needs to provide a more specific, clearly stated thesis (ex.: "While most performers in the Takarazuka theater are former fans, their views on the theater changed because of X, Y, and Z.")

____ needs to provide an organizational preview (what are you going to write about?)

____ needs to work on the organization of the section

 

Body:

____ needs to provide further examples, paraphrases and actual quotations as evidence supporting the thesis, cited by author and page number

____ needs to further develop interpretation or analysis of the topic

____ needs more work on transition or bridge phrases between arguments and paragraphs

Conclusion:

____ needs to further pull together the points made in the body of the paper to flesh out and "prove" your initial thesis
