Welcome to Matt’s Homepage¶
I am a second year Ph.D. student in the Applied Mathematics and Statistics department at UCSC. My wife and I are originally from Utah, where we both graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 2014. We love being with family and exploring the mountains along the Wasatch Front.
My professional interests are rooted in quantifying uncertainty and learning from data via probabilistic modeling. This drives my focus on statistical methodology, particularly Bayesian inference. Research interests include applications of Bayesian nonparametric methods and time series.
