Rainbows

ROY G BIV

Rainbows were a mystery for a long time, until Isaac Newton discovered how a rainbow forms.

  1. Sunlight is made up of all the colors in the rainbow. When the colors are mixed together, it is white light. Which we see everyday.
  2. When sunlight travels through a raindrop, the colors separate causing a rainbow.
  3. Rainbows were named after their shape. The arc looks like a bow from a bow and arrow. They also only showed up when it rained. Therefore they created the name rainbow.
  4. No two people will ever see the same rainbow because from different angles, different people see different raindrops.

Rainbows are made up of 7 different colors: If interested, visit this site for more rainbow info. You can send me an email if you would like to go look at rainbows.
