  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (+ some for sprinkling)
  • 3/4 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 egg and an extra egg yolk

    2. Mix or sift your dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, and salt
    3. In a separate (but bigger) bowl, mix together butter and sugars until mixed thoroughly, then slowly add vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk until light and fluffy
    4. Pour and mix half of the dry ingredients with the wet, repeat with the second half, and fold in chocolate chips
    5. Measure out 1/4 cup dough balls and place 3 inches apart on your cookie sheet
    6. Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown, let cool, and sprinkle with salt
    7. Enjoy!
