About me

I was born in 1986 and lived in Bulgaria until I was 16 years old.

I started high school in 1999 at the American College of Sofia, Bulgaria, allegedly the oldest American educational institution outside the United States. In 2002, I applied and was selected to attend the Red Cross Nordic United World College, one of currently twelve institutions around the world which promote international understanding through an intense and very international two-year educational experience. The two years I spent in Flekke, Norway have been among the most eye-opening and valuable years in my life so far. In 2004, I started studying at Princeton University in New Jersey, USA, and I earned my Bachelor's degree in Astrophysics in June 2008. From January to June 2007, I was studying abroad at University College London in central London, UK. I am currently at the Department for Astronomy and Astrophysics at UC Santa Cruz in California, USA.

I believe that a good way to learn about our world is to study foreign languages - apart from Bulgarian and English, I have studied some French, Spanish, Norwegian, and Russian. I like to travel and seize every oportunity to do so.
