Overview

CREDE was established on July 1, 1996, through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI). CREDE's mission is to provide educators with effective research-based teaching practices that ensure that all children succesd, especially those at risk of academic failure due to cultural, language, racial, geographic, or economic factors.

CREDE research has produced a pedagogical model that provides effective learning environments for all students. The model, known as The Five Standards for Effective Pedagogy, articulates both philosophical and pragmatic guidelines for effective education for all students.
