Some of you may know
that Melissa Etheridge has saved my life this summer, as I Was Left For Another
Woman, something which has happened, apparently, to Melissa Etheridge as
well.
But I have had enough
of a few of her songs. I mean, they helped. And they will help again. But
I needed to do something. (As she says in one of her songs.)
Tonight I feel so sure
That all in love is fair.
I know I will not care
And I'll feel the heat and the high of a new affair.
You know I'm only human;
I've got some new friends of my own.
But tonight while I'm making my phone calls
Some other woman, is making love to you.
Chorus:
Somebody bring me a lover.
I'm really sure I don't need a drink.
Can't you see my baby's got another lover;
I'll fuck the next woman who gives me a wink.
Somebody bring me a lover.
Can't you see I need an affair?
A woman for my heart, a woman for my mind,
And tonight a sweet woman, to love me if she dares
When will this celibacy end?
When will I get laid too?
I need a fling; I'll love again,
Or will I chill on the thrill of my own right hand?
I'll do anything to find a new woman to hold.
I need an assignation of the temporary kind.
I tell you things won't be the same,
When you know that some woman is whispering my name.

Tineley, thanks for the
lyrics. I, too, am a Melissa E. fan but there are times when listening repeatedly
to her songs just keeps me wallowing in my shit. I also have had enough
of a few of her songs which is probably a healthy sign. I can really identify
with your lyrics; I've been in that place, left it for a bit, and returned
<need to rest the hand, y'know> Thanks for the contribution, I'll
hang on to this one. -- Pat
