An Aerial photo of the lower ocean neighborhood

The photo was probably taken in the 1920s.

Passing your mouse over the photo should reveal the captions.

This photo was provided by the Barson family. The palm tree at the center of the circle garden in front of the hotel still (2002) lives in the vacant lot.

Most accounts say that the Barsons built a foot bridge for their guests at the end of Barson street. The bridge in this photo is at the end of Broadway.

The house next to 96 Riverside is its twin, which burned in the mid-1960s.

The island in the upper left was eventually claimed but the levee, and the river behind it is a Seaside Company parking lot.
