Bio

I am a PhD candidate and NSF Graduate Fellow in the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of California, Santa Cruz working with Enrico Ramirez-Ruiz. I am interested in high-energy astrophysics and fluid dynamics, specifically in binaries undergoing common envelope evolution. I completed a BS Physics at the University of Colorado Denver in 2017 after earning a BA Theatre from Meredith College and touring nationally as a musician and performing artist for nearly a decade.

My non-research interests include bridging science and society, diversity and inclusion in STEM, addressing mental health issues in STEM, and science advocacy and policy. Personal interests include dance (on the ground and with aerial silk or hoop) and performing arts, creative vegetarian cuisine, cultivating mindfulness, and spending quality time with my family.
