Measuring Entrepreneurship in the United States - the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity

Using matched data from the Current Population Surveys (CPS), I create the most up-to-date nationally, representative measure of entrepreneurship available -- the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity (KIEA).  The KIEA captures business creation at the individual level.  The KIEA is one of the only sources of data on entrepreneurship by detailed demographic characteristics and state.
