Data from matched monthly files from the Current Population Survey (CPS) and data from the Business Employment Dynamics (BED) are used to create up-to-date national and state measures of entrepreneurial activity. The KIE is one of the only sources of data on entrepreneurship by detailed demographic characteristics and state.
