PORTFOLIO SELF-ASSESSMENT

My goal for this course at the outset was ,_____and/but looking over what I actually did I see that

Summarize what you've learned about the writing process. How has yours changed? Where specifically in the portfolio could we find evidence of this? (Optional: Have you learned anything about the creative process?)

Which prewriting strategies did you use? Which was most effective and why? Which of the heuristic question sets ("toolkits") from the How to Be Brilliant handout did you use?

Did you try in any of your essays to attract/delight the reader with specific detail, stylishly crafted sentences, humor etc? Where?

Drawing on Murray and/or Hacker, demonstrate that your final paper is truly revised and not merely edited with some quotes thrown in. What did you learn in doing this revision? What are you proudest of?

Looking over all the papers, and thinking about the feedback you got from all sources, as well as your own assessment, what do you observe about mechanics? development/content? organization? Where have you made the most progress (and why)? What's your plan for dealing with trouble areas?

Optional: what was fun or at least satisfying?
