Philosophy

Teaching is an integral part of my training as an aspiring cognitive psychologist and academic. My goal is to expose students to the theories and research that inform the discipline of psychology in a way that is understandable and relevant to them. Every student learns differently, so I employ a variety of pedagogical techniques and activities to accomodate a variety of learning styles. As a teaching assistant, it is my responsibility to help students realize some of the ways that psychological principles are present in their everyday lives and to encourage students to think critically by applying the concepts that they have learned in class to novel situations. It is my hope that I can instill an appreciation of the field of psychology in my students.
