Final Project |
|
Hello! Laura Gilmore here to tell a bit about my Porter 34B final project. Even as a youngster I was making fractal art--without ever knowing that I was doing it. How could I ever make fractal art, using Mandelbrot sets before I could even read? Well, I guess I didn't make the program that was computed to the brilliant colors and fun shapes! All I did was tell my dad some numbers and he would enter them into his QBASIC program that then produced Mandelbrot Sets that I couldn't have even imagined, let alone make on my own. My project in this class was to then revive life into this ancient program of my father's making. And I succeeded--sort of. With Evan Schaffer, my very helpful T.A., and his skills in computer programming. The final product of our efforts is on its way to being something really nice. Using a basic interpreter, gsbasic, an image was produced. Yay! I would like to give my many thanks to Evan Schaffer for all his help and my father, Mike Gilmore, for his program. |
