I am a second-year Master's student of Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
My research interests are broadly in syntax, morphosyntax and phonology. I am especially interested in complex verb constructions in Persian, as well as the "ezafeh" connective morpheme in the same language. My MA thesis is an account of a new type of gapping that applies in nominals, which I call Participial Gapping (e.g. I hate [John kicking the dog and Bill _ the cat]).
This year (2007-2008) I'm working as the Peer Advising Coordinator for undergraduate Linguistics and Language Studies majors. I hold scheduled advising hours for declared majors, and our excellent team of undergraduate peer advisors will hold several drop-in advising hours throughout the week. The current schedule will be available here.
