I'm a third-year PhD student in linguistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. My research interests are in phonology, especially in issues of phonetic grounding for formal representations and for phonological generalizations. Some of my current projects include a study of how patterns of phonological markedness are reflected in the lexicon, and an experiment designed to test whether certain lenition patterns could have a perceptual explanation.
Recently, I've also examined the syntactic and semantic behavior of "discontinuous coordination" constructions (both...and..., either...or..., neither...nor...) for a qualifying paper that was completed in June of 2007.
