I'm a fifth-year PhD student in linguistics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. My research interests are in phonology, especially in issues of phonetic grounding for formal representations and for phonological generalizations. My current dissertation-related projects involve a series of experiments designed to test the perceptual and articulatory bases of certain kinds of lenition.
Recently, I've also examined the syntactic and semantic behavior of "discontinuous coordination" constructions (both...and..., either...or..., neither...nor...) for a qualifying paper that was completed in June of 2007.
