I am interested in forest regeneration, private conservation and ecotourism  in Central America.  I am studying how economic incentives motivate landowners to implement different management practices in second growth forest, and the impact that those management practices have on forest composition. My study site is located in Costa Rica, in a mixed protected area (National Parks, Private Reserves, and forest in private land), where private owners (NGOs, eco-tourism companies, industrial and artisanal farmers) participate in the creation and protection of biological corridors.more research interests...
