Q: Isn’t a UC education still relatively inexpensive?
A: The national average for in-state tuition is $7,020 this year. In Fall of 2010, UC in-state tuition will be $10,302.
Q: Why don’t students just take out more loans?
A: Students already take on too much student loan debt. Read more about the student loan crisis here.
Q: I can pay for my son/daughter’s UC education. Why does this matter to me?
A: Consider that many of the your son or daughter’s friends and classmates cannot afford a UC education. Do you want your child to attend a college where these students cannot share their talents? Do you want California to go without the contributions that these students can offer?

In addition, research demonstrates that the so-called “high-tuition/high-aid” model that the UC is adopting decreases educational quality for all students.
