Photos From Santa Cruz
Sandstone Cliff
This picture was taken on West Cliff Ave, a winding 2 lane road that follows the coast. It's bicycle friendly with a path shared by legs and wheels. All along this part of the Pacific coast are these sandstone cliffs that the Pacific Ocean is trying to erode. In the background you can see the Santa Cruz mountains, which look reddish brown, but turn green during the winter rains.
This is "The Warf". It's full of restaurants (seafood of course!) and some shops. Lots of people fish off the warf. Seals sleep and hang out on the crossbeams underneath the warf during  July-September. They cut some holes so you can look down & see the seals and they are very noisy!  Here's one I saw swimming nearby.

To the left is the famous Surfer statue on West Cliff Ave. One of the friendly locals thoughtfully took my pictures. Actually most people in Santa Cruz are very friendly! Below are some sea birds. Unbeleiveable wildlife here!
