RESEARCH

My research focuses on understanding population and community processes and applying this information to restore damaged ecosystems. I am particularly interested in how the surrounding landscape affects population and community dynamics in restored areas. I have worked on restoration-related questions in a number of ecosystems including hardwood forests in the eastern United States; tropical forests in Latin America; and chaparral, grassland, and riparian ecosystems in California.
