Professional Experience:
2006 - 2007: Lecturer, Department of Anthropology, Humboldt State University
2002 - 2003: Research Scientist, Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation, NY, USA and Grenada, West Indies.
Research Interests:
I am interested in human and nonhuman primate sensory and behavioral ecology, functional anatomy, and evolution. More specifically, I am interested in primate audition, bioacoustics, and habitat use. My doctoral research explores how and why primates vary in auditory sensitivity, with an emphasis on understanding coevolutionary relationships between auditory sensitivity, bioacoustics, and habitat use in platyrrhine moneys. To collect data on primate hearing, I am using minimally invasive physiological testing methods: auditory brainstem response (ABR) and otoacoustic emissions (OAE). Aside from my dissertation research, I am also involved in a long-term research project on the ecology and evolution of mona monkeys (Cercopithecus mona).
