UCSC Primate Discussion Group

The UCSC primate discussion group is a forum for discussing primate-related topics. We are an informal group of people from the departments of Anthropology, Earth Sciences, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Psychology. We meet every other week during the quarter to discuss research ideas, results, and recent publications related to primate behavior, cognition, conservation, ecology, and evolution. We meet in the Ethnographic Research Library, room 328, Social Sciences 1, at noon on the following Fridays:

Discussion Leader Date Topic
Erin Vogel To be announced The origin of culture in orangutans
Marissa Ramsier Apri 1st Siamang and Orangutan anatomical convergence
Brooke Crowley To be announced The isotopic ecology of primates
Paul Koch To be announced Primate Origins: where?
Adrienne Zihlman To be announced The comparative morphology of apes

If you are interested in joining our group, please feel free to come to any of these discussions, or contact Nate Dominy for further information (njdominy@ucsc.edu).
